Updated: Apr 25, 2024

Many of us suffer every year with seasonal allergies, but there are ways to help ease you through this season without being completely miserable...

Seasonal Allergies getting you down?

Start by checking your diet and your gut health. Many of our sneezing and coughing issues happen after we eat something that triggers a response. Sometimes the response is a couple sneezes (for me it's usually 10 sneezes in a row ) and a stuffy nose. Others start coughing... Still others may not have any response for a couple hours or a day or two. As our own advocate, it's best to try to notice physical responses to things we eat. Start a journal on your phone, or a notepad. As you notice your body responding to certain foods, try limiting those in your diet. As a holistic practitioner, I'd be happy to help you through this process. Just clink on the link below to schedule a telemed visit.

In the meantime, I suggest that you keep your nasal passages clean and moist. I personally like to use a saline spray called, Xlear. (click on "xlear" to find it on Amazon)

I use this a couple times a day to clear out any pollen and soothe the nasal passage ways.

Masks are also a good option to wear when you go outside. I'm not a big fan of masks but I know that they can reduce the amount of pollen you breath in when your outside. Be sure to use fresh masks, frequently.

Also be aware that when you go outside, touch your car, a grocery cart, etc... you can be picking up pollen on your hands... and if your nose or eyes itch, you may add to the irritation if your hands are carrying the pollen.

There are also some stellar herbs and homeopathic remedies to help your body deal with the mucous response and calm those responses down. I'd be happy to chat with you so we can talk more about options that would help you through the allergy season, you would chose the "Acute Consult".
